Douglas Fir Bowl w/Thick Bark

Douglas fir is not native to the East Coast, but it has been widely propagated world-wide.  This bowl came from a tree that blew down in a storm some years ago.  The bark of douglas fir is quite impressive in its layering.  I left this bowl thick to fully show it off.  The oil-soaking treatment it received darkened the normally lighter sapwood to give a more uniform coloring to the bowl.
