A Mature Tree

I’ve turned a lot of trees in the past few years and have naturally refined my technique as I go. When I first started out, I had to remind myself to consistently check lines, angles, thicknesses, and proportions, but now this process is second nature and my eye all the more discriminating. This tree is a sort of culmination of that evolution. Everything is just the way it should be (to my eye, anyway). Then there’s the color — a nice cranberry red with alternating bands of lighter popped grain. The gold accents provide additional eye-grabbing detail, as does the bright finish.
