Arching Bowl In Cherry

Quite a dramatic form and live-edged too. It’s also an “end grain” bowl, which means the bowl is a crosssection of the tree. It’s hard to keep such a large end grain piece from splitting apart, but this one has stood the test of time. It dates from earlier in my career — 2005. We’ve had it in our home gallery (living room) for many years and I decided it was time to rotate pieces. Gloss finish, built up from many thin layers of shellac.
