Blue Slate Tree

This tree has a base layer of phthalo blue topped by an iridescent coat, which shifts the blue a bit toward a slate color. I custom mixed the color of the finial (and base) and, while it’s not what I think of as a strong holiday color, it works very nicely with the slate blue. I guess I’d call it an ivory-buff, though I assure you I do not traffic in elephant tusks. A glossy coat of shellac gives this piece a nice shimmery quality.
