Blue Trio

A trio of candlesticks, this time. Their heights are evenly spaced at about 9″ high, then 7″, and finally, 5″. The multi-step coloring technique really takes advantage of red oak’s porous grain, as you can see every aspect of the wood even through the eye-catching silver-blue coloring. The crisp details are replicated on each candlestick, so you know they share some DNA (actually true, since they came from the same piece of timber). The concentration of weight in the bottom (and who doesn’t want that?) gives them good stability. A smart set for your dining room table or harpsichord, though I realize that not everybody has a dining room table. Gloss finish from several coats of shellac.
