Blues Bands

Oh, what a fine tree this is. Fashioned (by hand, dontcha know) from red oak, this 10″ tall tree was first covered in a deep ultramarine blue. From there many bands in gold and silver, and many lines in white and cornflower(ish) blue were layered on. A veritable maelstrom of fine pinholes, the result of red oak’s crazy grain structure, gives this piece a lovely texture. A graceful golden finial sits on top of the works. Gloss finish in shellac.
