Figgy Pudding

I know, I know, not your typical tree shape. One of the stages that my trees go through is green roughing out, which means I take away a lot of wood while it’s still more or less freshly cut. That’s because wood turns a lot easier when it’s green. Then I seal it and let it dry for a year or two. Well, when I pulled this one out it seemed to have a very organic look to it, like maybe a fig or a head of garlic. As I went to shape it I found the existing form too pleasing and fitting to the wood to cut it away. So a Christmas Fig it is!
