Green Crab Apple Knitting Needle Box

I’ve only ever come across crab apple once. The fellow who cut down the tree — the centerpiece of his small backyard — seemed to harbour some degree of animosity toward the poor thing and was relieved when it got diseased and gave him an excuse to fell it. Sad story, but the wood is utterly fantastic. Not actually at all like apple wood; more like some tropical wood; very hard and with exotic grain details. Anyway, this knitting needle box can accommodate up to 9 1/2″ knitting needles.
