Hubble Form
Why Hubble? Well, the coloring and shapes of the very dark knot sections jutting into the nearly luminant blue reminded me of some of those colorized telescope images I’ve seen over the years. I like to think of the central raised band on this piece as the Orion Belt. In fact if you google images of ‘orion belt’ you’ll see where I’m coming from (outer space). Dyed blue, soaked in boiled linseed oil and finished with several coats of oil/urathane varnish.
