Imposing Green Tree

This one is about as big a tree as I’ve made (to date). Hewn from a piece of sugar maple, it stands about 13″ high and weighs over a pound and a half. It sports interwoven shades of green on its branches, with red bands running in between them. The gold branch highlights and the golden finial make the piece sparkle, as does the glossy shellac finish. The base is left natural so the beholder can easily identify the material as wood, if not the more specific type of wood, maple, which is also identified on the bottom of the tree via the word “Maple.” My mother always said I was very sharp.
