It’s Turtles All The Way Down

This tree reminds me of turtles standing on the backs of ever larger turtles, so as to hold up the flat earth. Absurd, yes, and yet I can’t prove it wrong through my direct life experience. The dazzling green turtles of this tree are the result of mixing gold paint with green, and the two shades alternate and are separated by bands of bright silver. The beaded base is colored with silver and red, echoing the colors of the finial. Every turtle needs a hard shell finish, and this one comes in the form of shellac and is as shiny as any turtle’s shell, though I believe that’s a pretty low bar to clear.
