Mossy Crab Apple

This applewood bowl has the faintest coloring, the result of multiple coats of a very dilute green dye. It is taken up most in the lighter wood, leaving the warm reddish brown heartwood more or less alone. The look is one I like quite a lot — very organic. It also has clean, modern lines and a gloss finish achieved through multiple rubbed coats of shellac.
