Oil-Soaked, Live-Edge Apple Bowl

A very thin bowl in apple. The bark edge gives an extra hint as to where in the tree this piece came from. A boiled linseed oil soak really deepened the heartwood color and pieces that are so treated are noticeably heavier after absorbing all that oil. The lighter sapwood lends a very nice band of contrast to the whole affair. Finished with several coats of oil/urethane varnish and buffed with oil+beeswax.
