Pickled Red Oak Box

I just love to use deep pores in woods like red oak, elm and locust to add contrast to a piece. Here I’ve added a dark blue fill on all but the top, which I filled with silver. I rather like the effect. This is also a nice thick-walled box. Very satisfying to pull the top off and replace it over and over.
