Primordial Pine Bowl

This heavily barked vessel may not be ancient, but it looks and feels like it’s been around since some hundreds of years before the dawn of history (as they say in Spinal Tap).  So thoroughly impregnated with linseed oil, its mass and marbled coloration reminds the holder of petrified wood.  Among the surviving details in the bark is a line of sapsucker holes.  This I warrant: you will not find a wood bowl bearing intact sapsucker holes at a big box or mall store.
