Red Oak Bowl In Red

This 9″ wide bowl came from a very large piece of red oak, which is why the bark edge is nearly flat across the top and why the grain lines are like concentric circles. The vivid red color of the exterior is the result of multitudinous coats of red-tinted shellac, and works very well with the heavy texture of the red oak grain. A natural yet modern looking piece.
