Big Red Oak In Red

I believe I have made clear elsewhere in these pages my enduring love of red oak for the crafting of holiday trees. This tree is yet another example of why I feel that way. The open grain structure becomes the basis of the decoration. Here, we have two tones of red, with the lighter version showing strong grain lines. Highlights are in gold and ivory. The grain around the lower section of the tree is particularly lovely. Shellac finish.
