Red Set

Often, what I do is turn a tree and paint it, mostly on a whim. Only later do I, or my tasteful wife, arrange the great forest of singletons into groups of three based on color, shape, etc. Here’s the funny thing: an unusual number of these groupings have three different wood species. But then I always thought of the Three Kings as being of different wood species. Anyway, this is, as I trust is obvious, a red set of trees. The tallest one is a bit over 7″ high and the branch layers that are not red have a thin coat of gold paint, which is quite clear in some light and almost invisible in others (and in the photo). All finished in shellac.
