Sage Vessel With Lovely Grain

The forest green dye I use was quite diluted for this piece.  I didn’t want to overwhelm the grain. The apple tree this came from suffered from sapsucker attacks for years. Unfortunate for the tree but quite fortunate for the woodturner, as those bird incursions led to all those brown streaks and clusters. The organic shape is finished to a gloss with many hand-applied coats of shellac, my preferred finish on pieces such as these.
