Saturated Christmas

This tree is saturated not in the sense of having too much to drink, but with that wonderful substance, boiled linseed oil. Who’s with me? Anyway, this piece has soaked up a lot of oil, with the result being a combination of deep amber grain color in spots and dark brown marbleized color elsewhere. The colors are kept on the minimalist side, with very thin red, green, and gold highlights. The finial is a bright gold and the finish, as per usual, is gloss.
