Shimmering Green

The sections on this 9 ½” tall tree get progressively smaller as you go up, which I feel looks a bit more realistic than regularly spaced branch sections. A base layer of gold was put down first and a coat of a transparent green was applied over that, giving a very pleasing metallic quality to the green. Thin gold and darker green lines emphasize the tips of the “branches,” and the few bits of red here and there look fine and show admirable restraint, I think.
