Silver Green

I’ve used one of my favorite techniques for exploiting red oak grain on this tree, which is to put down base colors and then run a wash of iridescent pearl over the surface. That color collects and intensifies in the considerable pore structure of the wood, creating a veritable constellation of light streaks running all over the tree. A silver cap and a bit of blue are the only other embellishments on this lovely, glossy tree.
