Silvery Shadow

This tree has a smooth, gradually sloping profile with all detail withheld until the finial is reached. The coloring is iridescent silver on top of criss-crossing lines of red, green, and dark silver. Despite all those layers of color, the red oak grain pattern is clearly visible. The effect is, dare I say, dazzling? Well, it’s at least very nice. Set off against the noisy minimalism of the body, the formal gold finial provides much welcome tension.
