Swirling Cyprus

This tall (11″ high) tree is made from maple and topped with a bit of padauk, a lovely dark reddish-brown wood. On top of the arctic white base are swirls of red and green that seem to represent something like controlled randomness. Over all that is a coat of iridescent green, which is a subtle but loverly effect in the right light. Finish from top to bottom is in glossy shellac.
