The Teal Deal

I’ll let you in on the coloring technique I used on this one. The base color is canary yellow. I’m talking ballpark mustard. Over that I put two layers of a blue paint that is somewhat translucent and then sanded it back very slightly. The finish was an amber shellac which imparted a thin orange hue. I’m quite pleased with myself for putting in all the work and developing the color until it was what I wanted, but in the end I wondered if I could have just mixed the color to begin with. Maybe, maybe not. Accents in thin gold and natural wood underneath.
