Triple Trunk Yew Bowl

This 10″ wide piece comes from a rather large yew tree — I don’t see them too much bigger. Big yew trees often have deeply furrowed trunks, looking like they’re made up from multiple trees fused together. This bowl has three distinct sections, separated by the dark lines of bark inclusions. It also features a deep purple streak, which yew is known for developing upon drying. The extended oil soak this piece received lends a nice warmth and depth as well.
