Yule Like The Crackling

Ask my kids — I am an irredeemable punster. Or punisher, as they might have it. The crackling here is referring not only to the yuletide fire we all think of on a cold winter’s night, but also the interesting effect of the broken lines of paint. Those breaks in the green and red allow the gold base color to emerge — an affect I’ve taken some pains to perfect and which I like quite a lot. All that sealed under a couple of coats of glossy shellac.
